At Bikeworks we believe that everything we do is using cycles for good and we believe there is a cycling experience for everyone. As a not-for-profit social enterprise everything we do is to benefit our community.
Our freelancer team supports Bikeworks to deliver annually over 18,000 sessions using the bicycle, achieving incredible social and environmental impact. As an inclusive cycling organisation, our experience and specialism is engaging disabled people and people with health conditions, of all-ages.

All-Ability Clubs We believe everyone can experience the joys of cycling, delivering a free to access fleet of adapted and specialised cycles in parks across London.
Primary and Secondary School Cycle Training We deliver the Bikeability national standard for cycle training.
One-to-One, Group & Family Cycle Training An exciting timetable of activities are delivered in the community, in partnership with Councils, Housing Associations, Health Partners and Community Groups.
E-Cargo, E-Cycle and E-scooter Training Is an exciting area of inclusion as more people are encouraged to access sustainable transport and ways of travelling.
Cycle Mechanics We deliver beginners, intermediate and specialist maintenance courses, Dr Bike ‘pop-up’ cycle clinics, accredited cycle mechanics courses and build-a-bike sessions.
Team Building An important activity that supports Bikeworks in gifting cycles out into the community while raising awareness of the social enterprise sector.

Become an All Ability instructor:
No cycling qualifications are required to become an All Ability Instructor, just a passion for cycling and an interest in engaging with a variety of people who are less likely to have access to cycling. Routes to becoming a cycle instructor:
I am a qualified cycle instructor
If you have a qualification (1st4sport) you will join our pool of Bikeability Qualified Instructors, which means you can deliver:
- One-to-One, Group & Family
- Schools | Primary, Secondary and SEN
With additional training from Bikeworks you can also deliver:
- All Ability Clubs across London
- Cargo & E-scooter training

I’m interested in becoming a cycle instructor
If you have the interest and transferable skills for the role. You can start your journey with Bikeworks. We deliver off-road inclusive cycling sessions at Park locations across London.
Our free-to-access sessions provide cycling opportunities to disabled people, people with health conditions and carers.

Routes to becoming a cycle mechanic
I want to be a cycle mechanic
To start your journey as a Cycle Mechanic Bikeworks offers a range of part time and full time courses delivered in east and west London. Including the Level 2 Cycle Mechanics City & Guilds qualification. This accredited 10-day course provides an industry standard qualification for professional mechanics.
I’m a qualified cycle mechanic
Bikeworks delivers an exciting portfolio of cycle maintenance and mechanics work across London and the surrounding areas. Including Dr Bike, Fleet Maintenance, Build a Bike, and Cycle Maintenance Classes.

Team Building
This is a fun and unique job.
Every event is different, working with corporate clients and others to deliver fun and engaging activities that deliver a ton of social and environmental impact.
From small groups of 20 up to large groups of 200, our biggest event so far has been 400. Team Building events not only support Bikeworks as a social enterprise, the cycles are gifted to the community to increase access to cycling. The role is incredibly rewarding and definitely not boring!
