Meet Claudette,
Claudette, a resident of Westminster, has been using Cycle Connect to attend her weekly appointment at the hospital. Living with hip problems and awaiting surgery, she finds walking difficult and painful.
The door-to-door service makes it easier for her to access her mobility therapy sessions. On her way to and from sessions, Claudette enjoys the conversations with pilots and the fresh air that each ride brings
“I have hip problems and I’m in line for surgery. Walking is difficult and painful, even with my walking stick.
I attend a weekly appointment at the hospital to work on my mobility, and without Cycle Connect, I’d be struggling to get to and from the bus stop. The door-to-door service has really helped me!”
– Claudette
What does a typical ride look like for Claudette?
Our Cycle Connect Pilot, Erma, meets Claudette at her home and they set off on their ride together.
They ride through the neighbourhood, with Claudette enjoying the fresh air and Erma piloting the cycle.
Claudette’s walking stick is safely secured to the cycle, ensuring she has it when she reaches her destination.
They arrive at St. Charles’ Centre for Health & Wellbeing, where Claudette attends her appointment.
Erma is waiting for Claudette, one hour after her appointment, and they begin the journey back.
On the way home, Claudette enjoys the peaceful ride, appreciating the door-to-door convenience of the service.
