Benefits of cycling
We really like cycles and we also really like people. Whatever your cycling experience; commuter, casual, brand new, seasoned, just looking to get from A-B; we’ve got time for you!
Lots of people are surprised to find out that ‘bicycle’ and ‘bike’ only describe a 2 wheel bicycle. So we say ‘cycles’ instead of ‘bikes’ because we work with all types of cycles and all types of riders. It’s more descriptive and it’s more inclusive!
We know we are not the only people who like cycling. In recent years there has been a surge in the number of people who are choosing cycling as their mode of transport, and the restrictions that came with Covid-19 only intensified this. In July 2020, cycling in London had increased by 100% on weekdays and by 200% at the weekend.
There are numerous studies on the benefits of cycling and in London particularly people are realising the significant positive impact that cycling has on our city and for the communities within it. We are proud to deliver programmes in boroughs across the city and engage individuals and groups with the benefits across London.
Cycling as a form of commuting is also really beneficial to the health and productivity of employees, consequently we have seen things like Dr Bikes, Smoothie Bikes and Cycle Training as a growing priority for employers who are committed to their staff’s Health and Wellbeing.
If you’re wondering if you should get into cycling, our staff answer the question ‘Why do you cycle?’ above, and below are some of the main recognised benefits…
